The Challenge

ABC has hundreds of social producers working across the country, publishing content daily for multiple brands. Before partnering with Canva, there was no consistent way for teams to design social assets, attribute content to the ABC master brand, or understand brand architecture. As a result, visual quality varied widely, accessibility was inconsistent, and ABC’s brand presence online was being gradually eroded.

The Opportunity

Partnering with Canva created an opportunity to democratise design across ABC empowering non-designers to create high-quality, accessible social content while protecting the integrity of the ABC brand.

My Role

I led the project as Design Lead, responsible for strategy, system design, visual direction, and education. I worked closely with Canva and internal stakeholders to define requirements, design templates, and create a practical guide that could scale nationally.

The Solution

I designed a comprehensive suite of Canva templates for each ABC brand, embedding brand rules, safe areas, and accessibility considerations directly into the designs. Alongside this, I authored an in-depth guide that clearly explained ABC’s brand architecture showing where each brand sits and what level of branding and attribution was required.

The guide was written specifically for social producers with little or no design training, using plain language, examples, and clear do’s and don’ts. Together, the templates and guide formed a complete system rather than a set of disconnected assets.
