ABC Podcasts
Creative Strategy / Design System / Art Direction Isabel Muldoon
I led the redevelopment of the ABC podcast style guide from initial market research through to guideline development and final delivery, responding to the need for greater cut-through in an increasingly competitive podcast landscape.
Design Framework
The guide was structured using instructional design principles, translating strategy into clear, practical guidance that empowers designers to make bold, effective decisions within small-format environments, while maintaining brand integrity and accessibility.
Accessibility & Templates
ABC has a strong commitment to accessibility, ensuring its content and services are usable by everyone, including people with disability. This guide was developed with accessibility embedded from the outset, providing clear pathways to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, ABC’s Accessibility Hub, and practical tools for checking colour contrast.
The guide also links directly to layered templates that incorporate complex safe areas and brand requirements. By embedding these constraints into the templates themselves, the system supports compliance with accessibility and branding standards while enabling designers to work efficiently and with confidence.
